Universal Pictures Home Entertainment Group have hired Multitude Media to handle publicity for the forthcoming release of Amir Amirani’s WE ARE MANY, which chronicles the anti-war protests of 2003 – the largest gathering of its kind in human history.
On February 15th, 2003, up to 15 million people worldwide, many of them first-time demonstrators, gathered in nearly 800 cities around the world to protest against the impending Iraq War. The New York Times called it the “Second Superpower”: the largest recorded mass protest in our history. We Are Many chronicles how this mass, international protest came about, with testimonies from Danny Glover, actor Mark Rylance, film director Ken Loach, Jeremy Corbyn, Professor Noam Chomsky, musicians Brian Eno and Damon Albarn, writer and Vietnam Veteran Ron Kovic (author of Born on the 4th of July), Rev. Jesse Jackson, Richard Branson and Colin Powell’s former Chief of Staff Col. Lawrence Wilkerson, amongst others. The release coincides with the publication of Sir John Chilcot’s Iraq Inquiry.
The film will be available on digital download from 18 July and on DVD from 1 August 2016.
