Job opportunity: Publicist - TV

We’re on the hunt for a first-class publicist to join our television publicity team; someone who loves television and would like to further their career at a fast-growing agency.

The opportunity:

This is a full-time position in our television publicity division, working from our offices in Central London. The successful candidate will become an integral part of our team and the role offers scope for ongoing development and future progression.

Candidates must possess at least 2 years experience working in TV publicity, and demonstrate high levels of creativity, determination and perseverance to deliver excellent campaigns for our clients. Experience working on factual entertainment projects will be favoured but is not essential.

Multitude Media was founded in 2012 and the company has since established itself as one of the most respected in the UK, working with clients across the entertainment industry and offering television, film, live and personal publicity services. 

Since launching a dedicated television publicity division two years ago, we have become one of the go-to partners for production companies and channels in the UK and internationally. We work with some of the most prestigious production houses in the industry on a retained basis and on a wide range of projects, with recent TV campaigns including Fleabag (Two Brothers Pictures/BBC Three/Amazon), First Dates (Twenty Twenty/Channel 4), Bounty Hunters (Cave Bear/Sky), Pls Like (Shiny Button/BBC Three), Eat Shop Save (Shiver/ITV) and Cheat (Two Brothers Pictures/ITV).

Overarching responsibilities of the role include:

  • Working with senior publicity team to develop creative project strategies, identifying appropriate activity to reach desired audience

  • Preparing press releases and press kits (electronic and print versions) with an excellent news sense writing crisp, clear and lively copy, stimulating press and public interest alike

  • Lead on pitching ideas to media in line with the agreed strategy

  • Check media monitoring as a priority daily for all recent coverage and circulate updates in house style to clients and stakeholders

  • Create and proof talent schedules for interviews, junkets and screenings for sign off by Senior Publicist

  • Managing unit publicity campaigns, attending press set visits where applicable

  • Talent management for duration of active campaigns

  • Contribute to company social media communication, as well as internal updates and bulletins

  • Collate client weekly updates summarising state of play

  • Planning and managing screenings and events of all scales

  • Proactively meet with media to build and maintain relationships, keeping an eye out for new opportunities across the industry

  • Attend networking events to develop company relationships

  • Reactive client support, acting as first point of contact for all press office responsibilities (including out of hours where necessary), in the event of news stories that may affect clients or projects

  • Prepare and finalise coverage books and end of project summaries

  • Work comfortably and calmly in pressured environments with high volumes of work

  • Work proactively and confidently with own initiative, owning projects and responsibilities

  • Supporting senior team where appropriate, and delegating work to junior members of staff as applicable

  • Monitor existing ways of working and identify opportunities for company practice to be bettered
