Signature Entertainment/Grain Media
We were tasked by Signature Entertainment and Grain Media to handle publicity for British comedy SuperBob, a film about a postman from London who was struck by a meteor six years prior that gave him superpowers. Hilarious and silly in equal measures, the film starred Brett Goldstein, Catherine Tate, David Harewood, Laura Haddock and Natalie Tena and premiered at the LOCO London Comedy Film Festival.
The film was in a hugely competitive release window dominated by the release of the latest James Bond movie, Spectre, and at the time of strategising publicity activity, had a short theatrical release with day and date digital platform release.
We were able to secure fantastic publicity for the release across print, broadcast, online and social media including top tier coverage including talent placement on BBC Breakfast, Alan Carr’s Chatty Man and BBC Radio 2 Steve Wright in the Afternoon, and features in Empire, Total Film, The i, Sight & Sound and the Metro.
Such was demand for SuperBob that additional theatrical screenings were added, extending the film’s cinema life, and it peaked at number one in the iTunes comedy film chart during week of digital download release. A film with small-scale distribution went toe-to-toe with films costing almost 300 times as much.
