We were hired by Twenty Twenty Television to handle full television series publicity for Gareth Malone’s brand new series for BBC Two, pitting choirs from around the UK against teach other to be crowned Britain’s best amateur choir.
Gareth Malone is one of Britain’s best-loved personalities and as such draws a loyal audience to hit shows. However, we wanted to build on that by attracting as broad a range of viewers as possible, including a younger audience.
Activity was widespread, with Gareth undertaking key talent activity including ITV This Morning, BBC 5Live Afternoon Edition, a cover profile with Mail on Sunday’s Event Magazine, Metro’s 60 Seconds and interviews with The Guardian, Radio Times and Daily Mail’s Weekend. We also utilised the enormous reach of the participating choirs, securing widespread and sustained regional coverage in the lead up to each episode, and ensuring the show met its targets in terms of consolidated viewing figures and demographic.
