The opportunity:
This is a full-time position in our Culture and Entertainment publicity division at Multitude Media. The successful candidate will become an integral part of our team, both supporting on and leading PR campaigns across a broad range of live tours, podcasts, West End theatre shows and festival promotion. The role offers scope for ongoing development and future progression.
Candidates must possess at least 2-3 years of experience working in publicity with a demonstrable understanding of, and passion for the arts including live comedy, theatre, podcast and festivals. They will demonstrate a strong understanding of the industry, alongside high levels of creativity, organisation and perseverance to deliver excellent campaigns for our clients. Above all else, we’re looking for someone who lives and breathes comedy, theatre and the arts and will use that enthusiasm to help us craft the most dynamic creative campaigns we can.

Multitude Media was founded in 2012 and the company has since established itself as one of the most respected in the UK, working with clients across the entertainment industry and offering television, film, live and personal publicity services.
Our work within the arts has been at the core of Multitude Media’s rise since our inception in 2012, growing from our work at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. To reflect the dynamic array of projects that now sit within the team we rebranded in 2022 to be known as the Culture and Entertainment team. We have quickly become one of the go-to partners for performers, promoters, production companies and other collaborators in the UK and internationally. We work with the most prestigious creators in the industry on a wide range of projects – including national and arena scale live tours to festival publicity campaigns and podcast work.

Overarching responsibilities of the role include:
Develop and execute creative, impactful PR strategies for a varied range of projects, with support from senior staff on more complex campaigns, identifying the appropriate activity to reach the desired audience.
Excellent writing skills and a strong news sense, writing crisp, clear and lively press copy, stimulating press and public interest alike.
Strong relationships with key media across broadcast, print, online and social platforms.
Skilled at identifying news and feature angles and confident at pitching stories and securing coverage.
Acting as the lead point of contact for all day-to-day client requests and press office responsibilities (including out of hours where necessary), referring issues and concerns up to more senior staff as required.
Adept at managing a number of priority projects with high volumes of work at any given time.
Work proactively and confidently using initiative, owning projects and responsibilities.
Planning and managing photocalls, junkets, press nights and events.
Managing talent and being the central point of contact for their agents, personal PRs and representatives for the duration of active campaigns.
Attend and oversee client PR activity, including interviews and photoshoots. This may also require occasional early morning, evening and weekend work.
Creating talent schedules for interviews and briefing talent and clients ahead of media interviews.
Monitor the media landscape and anticipate issues that could impact on any given campaign and escalate these, whilst suggesting strategies and responses to mitigate, where appropriate.
Ensure that coverage updates are compiled to a high standard and in a timely fashion, collate weekly client updates summarising state of play and prepare end-of-project reports working with the Junior Publicist and Team Assistant to ensure all is correct.
Contribute to company social media communication, as well as internal updates and bulletins.
Proactively meet with the media to build and maintain relationships, keeping an eye out for new opportunities across the industry.
Attend all live theatre, comedy and festival shows to establish an understanding of themes of the show and the successful candidate must possess a willingness to travel where required.
Must be willing to work in Edinburgh during the month of August to take part in the Edinburgh Fringe Festival - length of stay TBD.
Key information:
Position: Publicist - Culture and Entertainment
Contract type: Full time, permanent (subject to six-month probation period)
Hours: Full time, 37.5 hours a week with flexi-working based around core hours of 10am to 5.30pm.
Salary: £31,000 to £35,000 depending on candidate
Start date: January 2025
Location: Hybrid working, with part time remote working and part time working at our head office on Charlotte Street, Central London, Tottenham Court Road.
